Restore the Funding Now!
Ebenezer's not the only Scrooge. Once again the GOP in Michigan are acting like a bunch of Scrooges and Grinches. The GOP led house stripped 645,000,000 from state funding for social programs last week. The cuts affect funding for community groups, programs that help many. The GOP led appropriations committee stripped the funding by bypassing the Governor, state Senate and the full house through a loophole. The 645 million was a carryover from the last state budget. The GOP claimed the move was made to cut wasteful spending. The State Senate passed a measure to restore the funding, now it's up to the state house to do what they majority of Michiganders want, restore the funding. Matt Halls' reasons for doing this is as believable as a $3.00 dollar bill. First: the state budget was passed in October. It was signed into law.
